PRESIDENTS REPORT
Welcome back to all for another year.
Appears rides are going well in Bruces absence. (no offence to Bruce)
Spent Christmas & New Year’s Eve with a small group of friends including the lawyer Barry took the original rules of incorporation to for verification.
Can now assure club that in the lawyer’s opinion all our policies and procedures, everything Consumer Affairs want, as displayed on our website, are 10/10!
We need do no more in that area, just make sure we abide by them!
Re the eventual Taxation departments scrutiny of all non-for-profit Incorporated bodies including ours he felt we needed to carefully consider our position as a registered Motorcycle club and before the crackers went off on new years eve came up with the following dot points for members consideration/action.
SECRETARYS REPORT - Welcome to the meeting and hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas & New Year. Pleased to hear that Bill and Bruce are on the road to recovery and not too far into the future able to get helmets back on the head. Wish Tony Kane a quick recovery after tearing Achilles Tendon. And to everyone else who has medical issues.

Re the eventual Taxation departments scrutiny of all non-for-profit Incorporated bodies including ours he felt we needed to carefully consider our position as a registered Motorcycle club and before the crackers went off on new years eve came up with the following dot points for members consideration/action.
- Reduce money in everyday account and transfer $$$ into our savings account to balance over $10,000 as our ‘security blanket’
- Look at where we donate in line with the fact, we are a motorcycle club, not a charity. He suggested we look at our Risk Register and donate funds if we must to areas that would fit Risk register, e.g. local hospitals.
- Ideally our running account should balance each year so we don’t have any excess funds to dispose of!
- Here’s a novel idea, lower your annual fees. May take a couple of years fine tuning but then you have one less thing to worry about and can get on with the club’s primary purpose as stated, ride bikes and socialize.
